Union Station - Portland, Maine Size:8x10 crafted with care in ourPortland's Union Station operated from 1888 to 1960 and was located in the Libbytown neighborhood. This vintage photograph of the station was taken between 1900 and 1910, half a century before the building was demolished in 1961. A strip mall is now located on the site of the historic train station. Notably, the demolition of Union Station led to the creation of Greater Portland Landmarks in 1964, a preservationist group.
