Laughing Owl craft I watched from the safetyThis photograph of a "laughing" barred owl was taken in the winter one of the best times for finding owls. I found this barred owl sleeping high up in a tree. Given it was late afternoon, I knew the owl would wake up shortly to start its evening hunt. I patiently waited about 2 hours for it to wake up, and once it did, it let out a huge yawn that looks like a laugh.
