Condition: Excellent overall with minor wear and lacquer distressing appropriate to age

This elegant antique Chinese half table is from Shanxi province and dates to the early part of the 19th century

the chest opens to a single large storage cavity accompanied by a candle box and a sturdy supporting chain that prevents the lid from overextending and straining the hinges

Painted Mongolian Sideboard - 19th Century Chakki Tables This fabulous carved Indian windowThis antique Mongolian sideboard was used for storing clothing and grain by the nomadic people of Mongolia & Northern Shanxi in the 19th century. Unusually the scenes on the front panels are framed by pomegranates. The scenes depict workers and youths playing outside, framed beautifully by a deep red background. The frame is a faded black. These sideboards were also used as altar cabinets for family ancestor worship. The front doors have been modified
