Cizhou Wine Jar from Taiyuan – 19th Century Furniture Old Charpoy from Rajasthan -This authentic 19th century Cizhou type wine jar from Taiyuan in Shanxi Province is a beautiful example of northern China's celebrated folk ceramics. Hand thrown in stoneware, the jar is coated in a creamy white slip before being freely decorated with expressive iron brown brushwork, combining bands of geometric ornament with calligraphic characters and stylised natural motifs. Cizhou wares have been produced in northern China since the Song Dynasty
