It combines the unique growth habit and deep red coloration of Nepenthes ampullaria “William’s Red” with the sinister clawed peristome of Nepenthes hamata

This is a single clone from Borneo Exotics selected for its gorgeous pitcher and leaf coloration as well its size and ease of growth

We find these to be strong growers that hold a large number of pitchers

Nepenthes ovata doesn’t seem to grow on the summit alongside the other Nepenthes species at the locations we observed but we haven’t traveled to all the mountains it grows on
